Once a grand Edwardian, this Berkeley home had seen better days. We stripped it to the studs and rebuilt with reverence: restoring its historic character while adding all the modern comforts. A two-story addition blends seamlessly into the original form, and every finish inside and out was chosen to highlight the home’s old-world charm.
We reimagined the kitchen of this classic Elmwood Craftsman home to include a strong connection to the owner’s beloved garden. Floor to ceiling glass, custom cabinetry and a fully tiled wet bath are highlights of this project. Wide plank white oak floors incorporate radiant heat. Details from the owner’s travels and lives include a custom tile backsplash and built in seating constructed of wind felled Acacia from the property.
