A great example of an ADU providing permanent multi-generational living. A family purchased a new home specifically seeking the yard space to build an ADU as an additional full time residence. This generous site allowed for a design that has a unique roofline to provide interesting views from the main home. The spacious open living space is perfect for hosting friends and grandchildren as well as enjoying the movement of natural light throughout the day. Ample custom storage throughout provides for easy access to all the needs of a full time home. The house is oriented around a private deck for outdoor living that connects directly to a large yard to share with the family.
We reimagined the kitchen of this classic Elmwood Craftsman home to include a strong connection to the owner’s beloved garden. Floor to ceiling glass, custom cabinetry and a fully tiled wet bath are highlights of this project. Wide plank white oak floors incorporate radiant heat. Details from the owner’s travels and lives include a custom tile backsplash and built in seating constructed of wind felled Acacia from the property.
